This course aims for operational Mobile Harbor Crane (MHC) operators. The training course has a Practical as well as a Theoretical part.

Result: after the training course, the trainees are able to work with a MHC in a safe and productive way, all according safety and legal regulations.

GPT offers the patented Hand-Eye coordination test that helps to select the most suited trainees to start the training.

Target

  • To provide sufficient professional knowledge to handle the mobile harbor crane depending on the needs of the terminal:
    • hook operations
    • grab operations
    • container operations
  • Repetition of the hoisting methods and hoisting gear
  • Theoretical training on the construction of sea vessels and the operations on a terminal
  • Safety and prevention of accidents
  • Proper handling of the equipment and the cargo – damage prevention
  • Economical and ecological use of the equipment in order to reduce maintenance costs.

Target audience

Beginners (“from zero to hero” course)
Experienced operators (“increased moves/hour course”)
Spreader-, grab- and hook operations.
Minimum age: 18 years.
The candidate has a safety attitude and a developed responsibility.
Impeccable eye-sight, a perfect hearing and medical qualification is required.

  • When: at clients convenience depending on availability of GPT instructors
  • Duration of the training: depends on trainee’s experience

  • Maximum: 2 trainees/ 1 instructor/ 1 crane
